What can you expect during a primary care visit?

During your visit, you can expect an evaluation of your overall health, which may include a physical examination, discussion of your medical history, and any current symptoms or health concerns. Your care provider may order tests or screenings to assess your health more thoroughly or monitor chronic conditions. You’ll have the opportunity to discuss preventive care strategies, lifestyle modifications, and any other health-related questions. If necessary, the provider can also refer you to our on-site specialists for further evaluation or treatment, all while coordinating your care.

What are the potential costs for a primary care visit?

The potential costs for a primary care visit can vary widely based on the services provided, whether you have insurance, and the insurance plan’s coverage details. Basic visits for check-ups or minor illnesses might incur lower costs, while visits involving extensive testing or procedures can be more expensive. We offer flexible payment options to accommodate different financial situations, and insurance typically covers a substantial portion of the visit cost, subject to deductibles and copays.

What is primary care?

Primary care refers to the range of healthcare services for the general management of health, including preventive care, chronic disease management, and aftercare for adults, adolescents, and children. Primary care practitioners address a wide spectrum of health issues, coordinate care with specialists, and focus on maintaining overall patient health through regular check-ups, health education, and personalized advice.

What is the followup and recovery like for a primary care visit?

Follow-up and recovery after a primary care visit depend on the nature of the visit and any findings. For general check-ups or preventive visits, follow-up may simply involve scheduling the next routine appointment. If specific issues are identified or treatments initiated, follow-up appointments may be necessary to monitor progress, adjust treatments, or manage any chronic conditions. Recovery from any treatments started during primary care visits, such as medication adjustments for chronic diseases, is closely monitored by the provider, with guidance provided on managing any side effects or changes in condition.

What are the potential risks for a primary care visit?

The potential risks associated with a primary care visit are generally minimal, mostly involving the discomfort of certain examinations or the possibility of anxiety related to health concerns or diagnosis. There’s also a small risk of complications from minor procedures performed during some visits, such as blood draws. However, these risks are outweighed by the benefits of early detection and management of health issues, guidance on preventive care, and the establishment of a health baseline for future reference.

Why are primary care appointments performed?

Primary care appointments are performed to monitor and manage overall health, diagnose and treat common medical conditions, and prevent future health issues through regular check-ups and screenings. These appointments enable early detection of diseases, management of chronic conditions, and guidance on lifestyle choices that promote well-being. They also serve as a gateway for referrals to specialists.

How do I prepare for my primary care appointment?

To prepare for your appointment, gather relevant medical records, including past illnesses, surgeries, vaccinations, and current medications or supplements. Make a list of symptoms, concerns, and questions you have about your health. Knowing your family medical history can provide valuable insights for preventive care. Bring identification, insurance information, and understand your payment options.

What is same day care?

Same day care is immediate medical attention for non-life-threatening conditions, offering a convenient alternative to emergency room visits for acute issues.

What can you expect during your same day care visit?

Expect a brief wait, a consultation with your provider, possible diagnostic tests, and treatment for your condition.

What is the followup and recovery like for a same day care visit?

Follow-up might involve home care instructions, prescription medications, or referrals to specialists for further treatment. It all depends on the reason for your visit.

Why is same day care performed?

It’s performed to quickly address acute medical conditions that require prompt attention but are not severe enough for an emergency room visit.

Are there procedures related to same day care?

Related procedures may include diagnostic testing, minor surgical procedures, and non-emergency medical treatments for a wide range of conditions.

How do you prepare for my same day care visit?

Prepare by bringing a photo ID, insurance information, a list of current medications, and any relevant medical history.

What are the potential costs for a same day care visit?

Costs vary based on treatment, insurance coverage, and whether you’re paying out-of-pocket. We offer flexible payment options that allow you to get treatment today but pay tomorrow!

What are the potential risks for a visit?

This depends on the reason for your visit, but risks are generally outweighed by the treatments provided.

What should I expect during my first visit?

During your first visit, you can expect an initial assessment or consultation where the healthcare provider will ask about your symptoms, medical history, and any concerns you have. This discussion helps in forming a diagnosis and creating a personalized treatment plan. Depending on the service, visits may involve talk therapy sessions, where you discuss your feelings and behaviors, medication management, or other therapeutic interventions. The approach will vary based on the individual’s needs and the specific mental health issues being addressed.

How quickly can I expect to see improvements in my symptoms?

The response time to treatment can vary depending on the individual and the specific condition being treated, but many patients experience notable improvements relatively quickly. With treatments like ketamine therapy for depression, some patients may begin to feel better within hours or a few days after their first session. Other treatments might take several weeks to show significant benefits.

What are the potential side effects of Ketamine therapy?

Ketamine therapy, while beneficial for many, can also have potential side effects, which are important to consider. Commonly reported side effects include feelings of dissociation or detachment from reality, dizziness, nausea, elevated blood pressure, and blurred vision. These effects are generally short-lived and occur during or shortly after treatment. Less common but more serious side effects can include changes in heart rate, mood swings, or prolonged disorientation. At ClearMD, we closely monitor all patients during ketamine therapy to manage any side effects promptly and ensure the treatment is both safe and effective.

How will Ketamine affect my mind?

Ketamine has shown remarkable potential in rapidly enhancing mood and alleviating symptoms of depression, often when other treatments haven’t been effective. It works by targeting glutamate, a key neurotransmitter that facilitates brain connections, which can lead to significant improvements in thought patterns and emotional regulation. Many patients experience a positive shift in their perception and a profound sense of introspection, which can be deeply therapeutic.

Is it bad if I get tested too soon? When should I return for a repeat test?

Again, this answer will vary from person to person, and depend on the STI of concern. Although you may feel like you have “wasted” a visit in being tested too early, the truth is, it is never a bad idea to have a “baseline” test. This way, providers can detect any changes in results down the road. If you feel like you have tested too soon, speak with one of our providers to determine when a good time is to return.

What steps are involved in RT-PCR testing?

We follow a protocol designed for high-throughput sample reformatting, RNA extraction, and RT-PCR using a heavily automated robotic workflow analogous to the standard CDC protocol. The test pipeline consists of the following steps: 1) Clinical specimens are put into a laboratory convection oven to inactivate potential viruses. 2) Samples are automatically transferred into a 96-well sample block. 3) Automated RNA extraction is performed. 4) RT-PCR is performed on extracted RNA to detect possible SARS-CoV2 infection.
